Your video will begin in How to do the double-under frog jump rope trick Posted on Sun, 19 October 2014 in Double Unders by Wodnation 949 Views 0 0 Hi guys, this is BillyTWildi, this tutorial that I’m going to be remaking, I hope that you like it, the tutorial how to do double under frog jump. The reason I’m remaking this tutorial is that when I made it originally is that I wasn’t particularly competent with the trick, and therefore, I think what I gave was a little bit flawed and a little bit basic, so I’m going to remake it now based on that I could do it much more comfortably. So the double under frog is basically where the rope goes under your feet and you land a hand stand. So here’s your regular frog followed by a double under frog so that you can see the difference. So the differences between a regular frog and a double under frog, there are two main differences. Obviously the most important difference is that the double under frog is the rope goes under your feet before you land in your handstand position compared to a regular frog where it doesn’t. So first question might be whey it’s called a double under frog when it goes under your feet once. The difference between a double under frog and regular frog is we say basically when you throw the rope over, hit the ground and hit a handstand, that counts as one turn of the rope. Even though technically it’s not a full turn, so it’s kind of therefore treated as a single under frog. Wheras in the double under frog, the rope goes under your feet once, one, keep your hands to the ground, and that counts to two. So that’s why it’s called a double under frog. So the other main difference between a double under frog and a normal one is the technique of how you get into a handstand. So in the normal frog, what you intend to do, like a normal handstand, you kick your foot forward, put your hands up, and then you go into a handstand. So you go down, one, and then you kick your legs together. If you want to see more about that, watch my actual tutorial on the frog which is a prerequisite for this trick. So the difference between this and the double under frog is the double under frog, you need to jump into a handstand. Which means you need to actually leave the ground with your feet together into a handstand. And this is actually there first thing you need to learn to do in order to actually be able to do the double under frog. it is impossible, at least I think it’s basically impossible for a double under frog to be done while leaving the ground with one foot. So how do you make the progression from going your frog from one foot to jumping trick. So the first thing I suggest you do is stay on one foot, but practice getting some airtime before you leave the ground. So instead of going feet down here, and then a handstand and then up to a frog, what I suggest you do is you do a little jump while you do that motion. So place your foot forward - what you’re going to do to start with is to plant you leg as per usual, and you're going to go down but you’re going to jump off your feet just before your hand hits the ground. So it’s going to look like this. This is a kind of good technique to get into for doing frogs because it allows you to enter them just a little bit more quickly and allows you to gather more height where I have to do a very long stride. So again, plant your first step forward, down, jump. Okay? What you want to do is to get as much height on this as possible because this going to start preparing you for the double under frog. So the next thing you need to be able to do is you need to be able to do a double under push up where you at least going to be able to do the after jump into a push up position. So because getting into a frog is somewhat similar to jumping into a press up except obviously we’ve got our legs a little bit higher, it’s good practice to go used to a jumping motion. So I jump into a press up position, so what you need to do is you start low, jump, press up. The motion is going to be pretty similar except your legs are going to kick up. So how to progress from a press up to the handstand? It’s going to be done in incremental phases. So what you’re going to do to start with is you’re just going to just start with a press up. After that what you can do is you could jump, kick your legs up a little bit, and fall back into a press up. So, like that. Now it’s going to look a little bit ridiculous for awhile, as you kind of progress. But each time see how tall you can get before you fall back into your press up position. Until you feel like you can actually get enough height so that you can actually kick down unto the floor. So once you actually have enough, you don’t have to go back into a press up. So you can do this, then you’re probably ready to try the double under frog. So before you do, you’re going to try a trick that is known as a high frog. So the high frog is basically what we have just been doing. You just jump into your frog, you don’t do any turning of the wrists, and then you just come down. So it looks like this. So once you master that trick, the last bit of the trick is probably be one of the easiest bits to learn. Because what it involves is just adding a turn. There’s no tips left I can really give to do this. Once you got the height to do this, the next bit comes fairly easily. You just got to have the speed to get it under your feet before you land. So the first thing I suggest you do is you try it with low just jumping, like so. And then just go for it. Second of all, I suggest you try and do it from a frog because this is usually the best place to end combinations. So you can do your double under frog just from standing. And then you can practice doing them continuously for extra practice. Anyway guys, that’s the double under frog. Thank you for watching. Please go and subscribe. Thank you.
