Your video will begin in Learn how to do a Kipping Muscle-Up by Camille Leblanc-Bazinet Posted on Sun, 08 February 2015 in Muscle-Up Videos by Wodnation 2937 Views 1 0 Hi, guys! Welcome to the CLB Fitness Factory. I’ll be your host Camille Leblanc-Bazinet and today we’re going to teach you guys how to master the Kipping Muscle Up. So in the Kipping Muscle Up, we are going to go from below the ring to above the ring using the power of our hips to generate an upward momentum. At the end of the Kipping Muscle Up when you catch yourself in the bottom of a ring dip, make sure that you catch tight and also that your shoulder and bicep are under on the ring with your elbow in. The first part of the muscle up, we’re simply going to learn how to start that swing under it. It’s going to be the same swing that we did for the toes to bar or that you do for a Kipping Pull Up but now on the ring. The shoulders are going to open and close and you need to make sure that on the back portion when your shoulders close, that you’re pressing down on the ring, and then you’re simply going to fall forward. And that’s going to build up, that horizontal momentum. In this drill, make sure that in that pressing portion that your belly stay tight and that your arm stays straight. So the second drill is simply going to build on to the first one. At this portion when our arms are pressing down on the ring, we are going to break at the knee and bend at the hip, so that we can use that later to generate that upward momentum. So the difference between this drill and the first one is that now the knees are bent and we’re flexed at the hips. When performing this drill, make sure that your hips do not travel higher than your knees at any point. So in the next step, this is where the magic happens. We are now going to re-open our hips and that’s going to regenerate tons of upward momentum. In this portion you need to make sure that you’re pressing down on the ring so that you can go as high as possible. In this drill the hips are going to violently re-open to propel the athlete up. You know you’re doing the movement right if you feel weightless at the top of the movement. So the last part of this movement is going to be the transition. We’re going to do it by flexing at the abs and bowing the hip through the ring. When you receive the ring, you will be at the bottom of the dip. Then just execute that dip and you got your muscle up. So that was the Kipping Muscle Up. I really hope this helped you guys. So make sure to tune in soon at the viaprive.com for some more movement drills.
